Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Arrival in Anchorage
You'll be picked up at the airport and dropped off at the hotel before our group convenes for a welcome dinner at an Anchorage restaurant. Please arrive no later than 4 pm at Anchorage airport.

The next morning we'll tour the Anchorage area, looking for wildlife, enjoying scenic viewpoints, and learning about the city's history and culture.
  • Day 2-6
Yoga and Meditation Retreat at Knik River Lodge
We'll spend mornings on our yoga and meditation practice with Jeneen. In between, we'll relax or reflect through journaling while gazing out on the scenic Knik River from the lodge or our cabins.

Each afternoon we'll have an outing to a favorite hiking trail where we'll move our legs and energize our bodies to a scenic vantage point. Here we'll sketch some very Alaskan scenes: blue glacial lakes, birch trees glowing in their autumn yellow, snow-capped peaks, majestic rivers through deep-cut glacial valleys, and perhaps even Denali Peak if the clouds cooperate. We'll have lunch (not included) at a local cafe during our daily outing.

Some places we'll visit include Independence Historic Mine at Hatcher Pass, The Musk Ox Farm, Denali South Viewpoint, Ekluta Lake, Eagle River Nature Center, and Chugach State Park.

Evenings will be spent back at our lodge enjoying dinner and an evening session with Jeneen. Our local guide will alert us for the chance of any northern lights activity throughout the night.
  • Day 7-9
    Spa at Alyeska Resort
For the final two nights, we'll drive two hours to Alyeska Resort. Here we'll enjoy a Spa treatment and ride on the Alyeska Aerial Tram with a scenic lunch at the Bore Tide Deli high on the mountain-side. We'll continue to practice yoga and meditation together and enjoy hiking in the mountains or walking the flatter paths.

On the final morning, you'll be transported back to Anchorage for your flight home. Those continuing on to Seward for their add-on trip will go to the train station for an incredible float trip to Spencer Glacier.

Important Notes

Cancellations, Refunds, & Covid-19 Policy

We are optimistic that an improving situation in Alaska will allow us to carry out our September 2021 Alaska Yoga Retreat. We are monitoring the Covid-19 situation closely and will be following CDC recommendations.

Travelers to Alaska will be required to follow current State Health Orders (which as or Feb 2021 require a negative test to enter). There are ample opportunities to practice physical distancing in America’s largest state and when we are confined to van travel or indoor yoga and other activities, we’ll ask you to wear a mask.

If the Covid situation deteriorates and we are forced to cancel the retreat, we will issue you a full refund, including the deposit.

If you cancel for any reason before July 7th, you will receive a full refund minus your $250 deposit which can be applied to any of Unquote Travel’s trips (within 24 months).

Our policy is that no cancellations are permitted after 60 days before the trip start date. We know that there is a lot of uncertainty around travel during these times, which is why we require all our participants to carry travel and evacuation insurance to cover illnesses such as Covid. If you have to cancel due to Covid, we will work with you, your travel insurer and our suppliers to reach the best possible outcome.
